JOIN Alderson House in Bridlington for a Poppy Ball as part of the Royal British Legion’s 90th Anniversary, this Saturday.
Alderson House, on South Marine Drive, this year celebrated the 4th anniversary since opening as one of only four Poppy Break Centres in the UK – providing services personnel with free one or two week breaks.
The Poppy Ball is a chance to celebrate the 90th anniversary while raising money for the centre.
Held at The Revelstoke Hotel this Saturday, the evening features a three course meal, live music and dancing – with tickets priced at £30.
A raffle will be held on the evening in conjunction with PCSO Liz Smith MBE, who organised a special event at Bay Primary School on Remembrance Day.
Prizes include two tickets for the Spa New Year’s party and a round of golf for four at Bridlington Belvedere Golf Club.
The ball will also see Royal British Legion maintenance manager James Lowry – well known at the centre for his flowing locks – cut off his trademark ponytail to raise funds.
The evening begins at 7pm for 7.30pm, with a dress code of lounge suits and party dresses.
