More than 700 people turned out to see for themselves how Bridlington’s new leisure facility is taking shape.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council and contractors BAM construction offered residents and visitors the chance to see at close quarters the latest stages of work on the new £25 million facility.

Tours included trips up to the first floor and a chance to see how the new hall housing the swimming pools is taking shape.

Principal project manager Adam Holmes said: “After the success of the Open Day we held in April, we were keen for the public to again see close at hand the excellent progress that has been made on the exciting East Riding Leisure Bridlington development.”

For anybody unable to attend last Saturday, a new video is available on the East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s YouTube channel.

The new facility is scheduled to open in summer 2016.
