The RSPB is inviting Yorkshire Coast visitors the chance to immerse themselves in the wonders of nature with awe inspiring views of the rugged Yorkshire coastline, by hopping aboard a unique cruise experience.
Starting this Sunday (May 15), the RSPB’s Puffin and Gannet Cruises will set sail from Bridlington Harbour aboard the MV Yorkshire Belle every weekend until July 10.
The cruises are suitable for the whole family and last approximately three hours.
Kim Smales, of RSPB Bempton Cliffs, said: “The cruises offer a unique chance to get a front row seat in the spectacular sea bird arena, underneath 400ft high chalk cliffs at Bempton and Flamborough Head where 250,000 seabirds set up their home each summer.
“As well as this, passengers will get up close and personal encounters with a range of fish and marine mammals such as seals and porpoises.”
Passengers will be able to watch the graceful gannets with their 6ft wingspan as they soar overhead, get deafened by the noise of the kittiwakes and gaze with wonder as razorbills and guillemots balance with their young on the narrow cliff ledges.
Kim added: “Why not challenge your friends and family to spot the ever endearing puffins on the cliffs, where they nest in the rock crevices, or watch the show as these little clowns with their bright orange beaks bob around in the water by the boat?”
With seabird experts from the RSPB East Yorkshire local group on board to help maximize enjoyment and answer any questions, plus a full range of refreshments and amenities on the Yorkshire Belle, this is an experience not to be missed.
