SUPER swimmer Ian Burdekin has completed a sponsored swim to raise more than £200 for a baby left almost blind after contracting cancer in both his eyes.
Ian swam 50 lengths of the pool at Leisure World in 50 minutes raising a grand total of £205 for baby Kaydan Jacques, of Bridlington, who was diagnosed with the rare cancer Retinoblastoma earlier this year.
Pictured is Ian, of Easton Road, handing over the money raised to baby Kaydan’s mum Michelle.
Also present for the money hand-over was Laura Heard of the Nags Head pub which has also been helping with the fund-raising to buy sensory toys for baby Kaydan.
Ian has thanked everyone who sponsored him and staff at Leisure World for the use of their pool.
He has also thanked Eileen Sunderland for being his lane counter, Pauline who cheered him on, and Rebecca and Mark at the Nags Head for supporting the sponsored swim event.
