Superglue man to face trial

A man who stripped naked before supergluing himself to a desk at a job centre is to face trial.

Ian John Robinson, 43, of Green Lane, Skipsea, has pleaded not guilty to a charge of criminal damage at Job CentrePlus on Quay Road, Bridlington on October 4 and to a charge of using threatening words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress at the job centre on the same date.

At today’s court hearing Bridlington magistrates set a trial date of January 3 next year and gave him bail on condition he did not approach or enter the Job Centre on Quay Road without prior appointment.

Speaking outside the court Mr Robinson said: “I’m prepared to fight for my rights to get sickness and disability allowance”.
