FIREFIGHTERS had to free a youngster who got his arm stuck in a pool table.
A crew from Bridlington’s Blue Watch were called to a house in Pinfold Lane, at 7.45am last Thursday after a three-year-old boy got his arm trapped down one of the pocket holes.
According to a fire service spokesman, the pool table was standing on its side in the house, waiting to be taken to the tip, and the toddler had been trying to retrieve a small toy he had put down the hole when he got his arm stuck. It took firefighters less than 10 minutes to free him, unharmed.
“We were about to dismantle the table using hand tools, but a squirt or two of washing up liquid and some manipulation did the trick,” said the spokesman.
l Around an hour later a second three-year-old also in Pinfold Lane, had to be freed after getting his head stuck in some railings near Burlington School.
