WITH the summer holidays here, the Humberside Police Lifestyle team are challenging young people in Bridlington to get busy over the summer months and make a difference to their local communities.
Lifestyle challenges young people aged 10-16 to form a team of up to five friends and think of how they can improve the area in which they live.
By doing this, not only do teams have a great time spending the summer with their friends, they also have the opportunity of winning one of the amazing prizes on offer including a holiday of a lifetime to Florida, PGL Adventure Holidays to Wales and France, ‘Hot Rides’ at Silverstone and day trips to Alton Towers and FlamingoLand.
Superintendent Samantha Manning, Head of the Community Safety Unit said: “Lifestyle builds both confidence and self esteem in team members, and as their projects progress during the summer, Lifestylers interact with their Neighbourhood Policing teams and gain a great sense of achievement without having the chance of being bored!”
Lifestyle 2011 Principal Supporter, Peter Shipp of East Yorkshire Coaches, who has been involved with Lifestyle since the project started 23 years ago, said: “I am looking forward to another successful year and once again experiencing at first hand the positive work undertaken by the thousands of young people during their summer break.”
Each team must appoint an adult adviser to oversee the safe running of their project, and then log onto our website to register to take part www.humberside.police.uk/lifestyle or call the team for a registration form on 01482 220700.
