A BRIDLINGTON travel agent took part in a Top Gear style cross-Europe challenge.
Steve Allerston of Holiday Travel on Promenade raced to Paris on the Eurostar train from a starting point in York, facing up to another team to try who went on a plane to see who could reach their hotel first.
“We both started in York, we got the train to London and then we got on the Eurostar, I’d never been on it before but it was very impressive,” said Steve.
“The other team got a train to Newcastle, and then flew to Paris. We both had a reporter from the trade paper, the Travel Trade Gazette, and a representative from Superbreak who organised the trip.”
While both teams set off at 8am, Steve’s team raced in at 3.20pm – an hour before the other team.
