A Bridlington charity shop will finally close its doors after 38 years of vital fundraising which generated more than £1 million.
The Oxfam Shop on Bridge Street was first opened in November 1977, but its current owner said changes to the town have meant decreased footfall and ultimately, the need to close the store.
Elizabeth Gill, who has managed the shop for five and-a-half years, said: “I think it’s the end of an era. The shop will close at the end of the financial year on 31 March. We have had fantastic volunteers and excellent support from the community and I would like to thank all members of staff, past and present.”
The Oxfam Shop now has a half-price sale ongoing till the it closes on 31 March.
