SANTA came to town and helped raise over £3,300 for local good causes.

Bridlington Round Table members and their families and friends braved the icy weather in December to escort Father Christmas around the streets of Bridlington.

Festive joy was bestowed upon residents young and old as Santa delighted children by handing out sweets.

During the seven days the Sleigh operated, a record £3,326 was collected via generous donations from the members of the public.

All proceeds will go to local good causes, such as eductional trips for youngsters and projects such as the Applegarth Sensory Garden, which the Round Table helped in 2010.

The group wishes to give special thanks to those who took part and supported the event, including Geoff Dunn and G&A packinging for supplying the sweet bags and tapes, and Dave at Hancocks (Sweets) of Hull for generosly supplying the sugary gifts.
