Santa will have a new home in Bridlington this year after deciding his grotto should be relocated to a store on King Street.

St Nic’s grotto will now be found on the top floor of Boyes & Co, on King Street, next to the cafeteria later in early December, after relocating from the Promenade Shopping Centre.

Eileen Sunderland of Bridlington Lions Club, who organise the yearly grotto, said: “We had been in the Promenade Shopping Centre for five years and we were very, very well supported by the staff - they have been brilliant.
“We were offered a new home and we were happy to take up that offer!”

Eileen added that Bridlington Lions Club will be out and about collecting for the group, and all the money will go back into the Bridlington community.

“Boyes will also be helping us on the day,” she said. “We are hoping to do a breakfast with Santa sort of thing - that’s watch this space though. We spend our money helping people - we buy equipment for schools .

“People sometimes need a special wheelchair that needs buying.

Father Christmas is scheduled to arrive at Boyes in early December.

Children and parents will be able to visit every weekend in December up until Christmas at Boyes & Co on King Street.
