A MISSION team helped celebrate the beginning of a new year at a school which has recently been renamed.

Pupils at Our Lady and St Peter Roman Catholic Primary School, formerly called St Mary’s, were visited by the Middlesbrough Diocese My Mission Team who worked with the children through song, dance and prayer.

The three day visit took place from Wednesday 26 September to Friday 28 September, and the work was themed with the idea of being called to serve, with particular emphasis on helping the communities around the school.

A uniform featuring a new logo, which is the same as that of the parish, was worn by pupils.

Anne Parr, headteacher at Our Lady and St Peter school, said: “A good time was had by all as the children welcomed the team back, their last visit was two school years ago.

“Altogether a week which the children will not easily forget.”

The three-day visit culminated in a mass, to which parents and parishioners were invited.
