BRIDLINGTON Town Council have received a record response to this year’s Mayor’s Christmas Card competition.
The council received more than 80 entries, almost double the usual number the council receives of 40-50 entries.
Bridlington Mayor Cyril Marsburg said: “I am absolutely delighted at how many young people have responded to the competition.
“It is not just the quantity either, I am very impressed with the quality of the cards and overwhelmed by the talent of all the children who entered.”
The Mayor of Bridlington’s annual Christmas Card competition launched in October, with a winner to be picked over the next week.
Children between 5 and 16 years old entered the competition, and the winning entry will be officially used by Mayor Cyril Marsburg this Christmas.
The winner will receive a £50 Argos voucher and a family ticket to Bridlington Spa’s pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk.
