A GOVERNMENT minister is to visit East Yorkshire next month to discuss the delivery of local services and the viability of rural pubs in our region.
Bob Neill, the Minister for Local Government and Planning, will also address the annual dinner of the East Yorkshire Conservative Association in Driffield on December 9 at the request of Bridlington MP Greg Knight.
Mr Knight said: “It is a great privilege to welcome the Minister to East Yorkshire.
“I am looking forward to showing him around and hearing what he has to say about issues that are important to the region”.
Dubbed the ‘Pubs Minister’, Mr Neill is granted special responsibilities for public houses by the Prime Minister.
The minister is also scheduled to have talks with Coun Stephen Parnaby, leader of East Riding and Yorkshire Council, about the delivery of local services with reduced funding.
A small number of tickets are available for the Conservative Association dinner, priced at £27, and anyone who is interested should call Greg Knight’s secretary Teresa on 0845 090 0203.
