Police still hunt Bridlington man Damian Waines

A MAN police are hunting for failing to appear in court is being sheltered in the town, a warrant officer believes.

Police are still seeking the whereabouts of Damian Waines, 31, who failed to appear at Bridlington Magistrates Court on Thursday March 8 where he was being dealt with for an assault charge.

Police officers have made checks at a number of locations, but have not been unable to locate him.

Mr Waines is currently believed to be of no fixed address but is thought to frequent the graveyard and sea front area of the town.

Warrants officer Mike Milner said: “Despite extensive inquiries to locate Mr Waines we have yet to locate him and I now believe that someone may be providing him with a place to stay.

“I would urge anyone who knows where he is, or indeed anyone who is assisting Mr Waines to avoid the police, to contact us now and enable legal proceedings to take place.”

Mr Waines, or anyone who may know of his whereabouts, is urged to call Humberside Police on the non emergency number 101, quoting log 550 of March 8, or ring Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
