The man whose body was pulled from Bridlington Harbour on Wednesday morning has been identified by police, but will not be named until the next of kin is notified.
Police received a call from a member of the public at 7.34am on Wednesday 15 May after reports that a body had been seen floating in the water in the harbour.
The coast guard located the body and waited for the police to arrive. Police attended and the body was removed from the water at 7.59am.
The body recovered was that of a man in his 50s, 5 foot 10 inches, of a slim build with cropped grey hair and a beard.
The man has been identified however the police have not yet been able to contact the next of kin.
The cause of death is unexplained but not thought to be suspicious.
