Police appeal after elderly man attacked with stick

POLICE are appealing for information in connection with an alleged assault on Wellington Road, Bridlington.

A 64-year-old man was at home when he heard noises outside between 10.15pm and 10.45pm last Saturday.

As he opened the door to investigate he was allegedly assaulted by an unknown man, which caused him to fall to the floor and drop his walking stick, which another unknown man picked up and continued to assault him with.

The man sustained two black eyes, small grazes to his forehead and bruising to his back in the incident. One of the offenders is described as a man aged in his 20s and of a medium build, 6ft tall and with short dark hair.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to call Humberside Police on the new non emergency number 101, quoting crime reference number 1893266.
