Police appeal after 11-year-old hit by car

A CAR hit a 11-year-old boy’s foot and drove away - and police are appealing for information in connection with the incident.

This happened at the roundabout of Martongate and Sewerby Heads at approximately 3pm on Wednesday June 20.

An 11-year-old boy was walking home from school with friends when he stepped onto the road as a car was passing.

The rear tyre of the car, a white BMW, connected with the boy’s foot causing minor injury to the heel. The car did not stop and continued on towards the town centre.

The boy required hospital treatment for his injury but was not detained.

Officers would like to speak to the driver of the vehicle who may well be unaware a collision occurred.

The driver, or anyone who witnessed the incident, is asked to contact police in Bridlington on telephone 101 referring to log 428 of 20 June 2012.
