A blue Peugeot car suffered damage after another driver collided with it whilst it was parked and unattended outside a house in St Stephen Road, Bridlington.
The offending driver did not stop at the scene however and left no details after the incident, which happened at 12.15pm on Friday April 26.
A witness informed the neighbour of the Peugeot owner that they saw a gold coloured Nissan reverse into the Peugeot, causing the damage but saw the driver drive off without making any attempt to report the incident.
The witness is unknown and police would like to trace the woman who was walking down the street alone at the time of the incident and reported the collision to the neighbour.
The driver of the offending vehicle is described as a white man aged in his late 50s to early 60s, wearing spectacles and of scruffy appearance.
The witness, the driver of the Nissan or anyone else with information is asked to ring Humberside Police on the non emergency number 101 referring to log 275 of April 26.
