Two people arrested following the discovery of a man's body in a Bridlington pub have been released on bail.

The 65-year-old man was discovered in a toilet cubicle at the Harbour Tavern, at Queen Street, on Tuesday (January 12) at 11am.

A 50-year-old Bridlington woman and a 32-year-old Bridlington man are in police custody and are being questioned by murder detectives

Officers attending the scene placed a scene guard around the pub until a paramedic could pronounce the man dead.

Murder detectives have now released a 50-year-old Bridlington woman and a 32-year-old Bridlington man pending further enquiries.

The man had been arrested on suspicion of committing murder, while the woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder and assisting an offender.

No-one from the pub was available to comment and Marstons, the Harbour Tavern's pub operator, declined to comment while police investigations are underway.

Police say the man's death is being treated as unexplained.
