Customers getting new glasses and taking eye tests helped raise more than £90 to make life easier for those who can’t see.
The money has gone to Guide Dogs UK and to mark the charity’s annual Guide Dogs week.
The team at Bridlington Specsavers spent a day raising the cash with the help of some doggy delegates from the charity.
Customers were encouraged to pop in to the store to meet Guide Dogs, their owners, and some puppies-in-training and to take part in a raffle to win a Guide Dog cuddly toy.
The money will go toward the lifetime costs of each Guide Dog which is around £50,000, all of which has to come from public support.
Mark Kunz, store director at Specsavers in Bridlington, said: “We really enjoyed our in-store fundraiser and our loyal customers were fantastic in showing their support for Guide Dogs UK. Every hour another person in the UK goes blind and we are really proud to be sponsoring the training of a much-needed puppy that will one day change someone’s life.”
