Open verdict at Bridlington balcony fall woman inquest

AN INQUEST into the death of a woman who fell from a balcony above a Bridlington sea front cafe has recorded an open verdict.

Mother of three Debra Mitchell, 48, died when she fell from the balcony of her first floor flat above the Marina Cafe on South Marine Drive late on Monday, January 9, this year.

The inquest heard evidence from family members, Debra’s partner Nicholas Newsome, emergency services and others who rushed to her aid after the fall.

Assistant Deputy Coroner Mr Michael Mellun recorded the open verdict at Hull Coroner’s Court today, Wednesday May 30.
