TROLLEY dolly Nancy Lindop shows no sign of putting the brakes on her hospital round despite reaching the grand age of 90.
WRVS member Nancy, who lives independently at The Avenues on Westgate, has worked at Bridlington Hospital for the last 27-years and celebrated her 90th birthday with her friends and colleagues last Tuesday.
Nancy is a popular figure at the hospital where she spends every Wednesday pushing her trolley full of snacks round the ward.
June Fern, local services manager for the WRVS, has worked alongside her for the last five years and described Nancy as ‘absolutely marvellous’.
“You can imagine how popular she is with everyone,” said June. “She does a fantastic job and is much loved.
“Not only does she volunteer for us, but she also volunteers for the RSPCA and helps out on their tombolas, she really is absolutely marvellous.
“David Cameron keeps going on about the ‘Big Society’, well Nancy invented it!”
June and friends surprised Nancy with a birthday cake and bouquet of flowers to celebrate her landmark birthday last week.
