FLAMBOROUGH lifeboat crews helped the coastguard team search for two missing people along the local coastline.
The inshore lifeboat was launched last Thursday at 8pm to help the coastguard search for a man in his late 50s who was believed to be in a distressed state.
After a thorough search of South Landing, Flamborough and Sewerby Steps, the man eventually reported to the Coastguard Station safe and well, so the search was called off.
The second incident on Sunday at 9.30pm was to search for a Bridlington woman in her late 30s, believed to be in some distress, who had been missing since lunchtime.
This time the volunteer crew searched the area between Bridlington and Thornwick Bay, but had to return when darkness fell.
The coastguard team also carried out an extensive search, as far south as Barmston, checking car parks and beauty spots but had to call off the search around midnight.
On Monday morning it was discovered the woman had turned up at home safe and well.
