A pop-star fanatic who become a bit of an international superstar himself for getting 17 tattos of his favourite Miley Cyrus has just clocked up numbers 18 and 19.
Father of three Carl McCoid, 40, of Thixendale Road, Bridlington, has had a red letter “M” and some song lyrics added to his body art.
“It is to celebrate the fact that Miley has just got number one in the Maxim Hot 100 list of the world‘s sexiest women,“ said Carl. But he is not going to stop adding to his collection. When the 20-year-old American-born actress and singer-songwriter brings out her new album in a few months time he is thinking of having the full album cover added to his body collection. His piece-by-piece tattoo tribute collection has already brought him world-wide publicity.
Tattoo number 17 of the singer’s profile on his calf was done while being filmed for a Channel 4 Cutting Edge documentary. He has also appeared on BBC2’s Never Mind the Buzzcocks and on German television, plus in national and international press.
Despite some saying he has an obsession he says he is determined to keep going with his passion for the singer and tattoos.
The publicity has given him a well known body, not to mention his face, and according to Carl he is known locally as the Miley Cyrus tattoo man.
“People in the street think it’s brilliant,“ he said.
All but one of Carl’s Miley Cyrus tattoos have been created by Stuart Rollisson, owner of the Black Lantern tattoo studio on Marshall Avenue in Bridlington, who has been a tattooist for nine years.
