A terminally ill man who wished to visit Bridlington for one last holiday has lost his battle with cancer.

Andy Feast, 31, passed away at his home in Thurnscoe, Barnsley, on Sunday evening, surrounded by his family.

The father-of-three had fought Lymphoblastic Leukaemia since March 2014.

The sad news comes after family friend Donna Hart set up a fundraising page for Andy and his family so they could enjoy one last holiday together in Bridlington.

Having an original target of just £800, an outpouring of support for Andy saw donations soar to well above £4,000 in just a few days.

Anne-Marrie Harran, Andy’s ‘auntie’, who lives on Marshall Avenue in Bridlington notified the Free Press of Andy’s passing this morning.

She said: “It was only May when we last saw Andy and his family. They are still holding a fundraising event in Barnsley on September 26. Andy was supposed to be there.

“We’re not sure if they will still come to Bridlington because it was going to be his trip, but I’ve been told his children still want to come.”

Andy’s funeral will be held on September 14.

The donation page is still active and accepting donations.
