A Bridlington man has appeared in court charged with a string of sexual offences following a Humberside police investigation into historic child abuse.
Andrew Cowie of Victoria Road, Bridlington, appeared at Hull Crown Court on Monday and pleaded not guilty to 19 sexual offences charges.
They involved offences against a young boy and girl dating back to 1977 and include 11 offences of indecent assault, seven offences of indecency with a child and one offence of child cruelty over a seven-year period.
The allegations date to when the children were aged seven and ten.
Recorder Lodge adjourned the case for a trial at Hull Crown Court on a date to be fixed.
Mr Cowie was given bail.
