A 21-year-old man has been charged after threatening to bomb a supermarket in Bridlington.

Daniel James Butler, of Trentham Close, Bridlington, has been charged with making a hoax bomb threat to the Tesco store in the town last night.

Police received a threat to bomb the Hilderthorpe Road store shortly before 10pm last night (Wednesday February 3), before arresting the 21-year-old at 11:45pm.

Butler will appear at Beverley Magistrates Court this afternoon in relation to the charges.
