A Bridlington man received fractures to his cheek bone and eye socket after he was assaulted in Sewerby Road on Tuesday.

The victim, a 42-year-old local man, had been to a neighbouring address to raise concerns about the volume of a party being held there.

When he returned home he saw a group of people throw a beer can at his house and when he went outside to challenge them he was assaulted.

The victim had to attend hospital because of his injuries.

Officers attended and four Bridlington men were arrested – three aged 22 and a 23-year-old.

They were interviewed and have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Police are keen to speak to witnesses to the incident and are appealing for anyone with information, or those involved, to contact Humberside Police on the non emergency number 101 referring to log number 863 of July 16.
