What a superb response we have had to our invitation to broaden the engagement of the Pocklington Post with our communities of Pocklington, Stamford Bridge and Market Weighton areas!

The content this week is a reflection of the great enthusiasm and commitment of many people and organisations who have joined with us to create a new-style people’s paper.

From our meetings and discussions, we have set up a Post Editorial Panel, a gathering of readers who are discussing content and ideas alongside the editor and his team.

The panel will supplement the work of reporters who will still be on hand to bring you the best, most dynamic news package, backed with great local sport and wide-ranging entertainments coverage.

The range of new voices and fresh content in this week’s issue is just the start. And I am particularly pleased to welcome the contributions of 14-year-old Caitlin England, a member of Young People Count, which is developing a centre and cafe for the youth of Pocklington aged 11 to 18.

Please let us know what you think – and join us!

Ed Asquith, editor (ed.asquith@jpress.co.uk)
