Work on railway bridge to continue until February

The Railway Bridge on Flamborough Road is having work done. (PA1302-8a)

WORKS to maintain a railway bridge in Bridlington should be completed by the end of February.

Staff from Network Rail have been working on the bridge, which crosses above Flamborough Road close to the Seabirds pub, since the beginning of the month.

They are carrying out general maintenance work to the bridge, which has seen part of the road closed, and temporary traffic lights set up.

A spokesperson for Network Rail said: “There are absolutely no problems with the bridge structurally, it simply needs a clean and paint. It is regular maintenance.

“The work will be carrying on weekdays until Friday, February 22. There will also be some further overnight work on January 19 and 20, and January 26 and 27.”
