UFO spotted over Bridlington

COULD the truth really be out there – in Bridlington?

Following on from numerous sightings of strange, unidentified objects at the beginning of summer, readers of the Free Press have again contacted us with sightings of strange objects illuminating the sky on Sunday evening.

Christine Traves, of Woodcock Road, Flamborough, saw two yellow lights in the sky between 8.55pm and 9pm on Sunday.

She said: "I saw one very high yellow light moving slowly across the sky over the Sandsacre area of Bridlington at 8.55pm.

"There were no flashing navigation lights so it wasn't an aircraft, and there was no sound. It was just sailing smoothly in the sky.

"Then as I drove on to the junction with Wheatley Drive and Marton Road at 9pm exactly, I stopped my car to watch what I can only describe as a big cone-shaped fire ball hovering quite low. It was very quiet and quite eerie, with it again just gliding in the sky."

Another Bridlington resident, who did not want to be named, said: "There was a strange object in the sky on Sunday night, an orange thing over Sewerby.

"It looked like a hand with a square base and resembled a great big fire. Although I don't think it was actually a fire because it wasn't flickering.

"It went away then came back three or four times, I was stood outside my doorway looking at it. I wondered if anybody else had seen it."

Back in June this year we reported on similar suspicious bright lights dotting the night sky above Bridlington and Flamborough throughout May, which drew curious members of the public to contact the Free Press in an attempt to get to the bottom of the strange events.
