The model and author will be at the Kirby Misperton theme park and zoo for the grand unveiling of the new show, on Saturday July 2.

Sarah Mills, Director of Marketing at Flamingo Land Resort Yorkshire, said: “We are delighted that the time has come to open our latest attraction which promises to be a swashbuckling adventure for all the family.

“It promises mystery, intrigue and plenty of audience participation as Captain Plunder prepares to safeguard his galleon pirate ship, The Black Heart.

“And, with the Pirates of Zanzibar sighted just off the coast, it won’t be long before you can enjoy this live production show featuring breathtaking fight scenes and acts of the darkest skulduggery.”

The unveiling is due to take place at 11am.

Pirates of Zanzibar tells the story of a crew descended from the infamous Spice Pirates of 1779, when spices were the most valuable items in the world.

After reaching the East African Coast, the Spice Pirates invaded the Tanzanian island of Zanzibar, which became the ‘black heart’ of their evil empire.

Capturing the hearts of the audience it also delivers a serious message about the work Flamingo Land does to deal with the real life ‘Pirates’ of today through its CIRCLE project in Tanzania where they are working to save threatened forests and their indigenous wildlife from loggers and poachers.

“Our latest show may be great fun but it does carry a message to our visitors about the amazing work we do here and abroad regarding animal conservation,” said Sarah.

“Just recently one of our other shows, Mia and Mylo, was recognised by BIAZA for the fun and interesting way serious topics are conveyed to our visitors and we hope to achieve similar recognition for Pirates of Zanzibar.”

From July 2, you can join Captain Plunder at 11am, 1pm and 3pm every day to hear his tales of the high seas, while his crew bring these spice stealing stories vividly to life.

And, for those brave enough to meet our spice pirates, they’ll be out and about scouting for plunder around Metropolis from 10am each day.

Each visit to Flamingo Land helps the UFP conservation project to conserve animals and their habitats for future generations.
