TRIBUTES have been paid to a national bodybuilder and former rugby international from Bridlington who died suddenly over the weekend.

Scott Eccles, 40, of Carnaby, was found dead at his home on Sunday.

Scott, who owned the Powerhouse Gym, on Pinfold Lane, was a champion bodybuilder in the making, regularly competing in regional and national bodybuilding contests.

He was also a talented rugby player having played for a number of local teams including the Bridlington Bulls, Hull Dockers, Yorkshire Colts, and at least 12 games for the England Lionhearts, as well as Bridlington RUFC.
