Tragic fire mum dies
Samantha Hudson
THE mother who lost her three children in a tragic house fire in Bridlington has died.
Samantha Hudson, 29, passed away at Hull Royal Infirmary on Sunday at around 8.15pm after suffering from pneumonia.
Samantha was left with brain damage after the blaze at her home in Clarence Avenue, in November 2010, which took the lives of William, nine, AJ, seven, and Maddie, three.
Her mum Sharon, 51, said: “We could never be sure what she understood and what she didn’t, because she couldn’t speak.
“There was a time when we thought that maybe she understood what had happened to her and the children, but we just don’t know.
“She had seemed better recently, she seemed to know when we were visiting. But then last week she fell poorly with a chest infection and that became pnuemonia.
“We got a call to get to the hospital on Sunday night, and we got there before she passed away.”
Samantha leaves her mum, dad Robert, 53, three brothers Gary, Peter and Mark and a sister, Hayley.
Samantha’s funeral will be held at Emmanuel Church on Tuesday at 1pm.
