Speeding offence leads to six-month disqualification
AN EXCEPTIONAL hardship plea did not save the licence of a man caught speeding in Bridlington.
Magistrates heard last Friday that Joseph Harrison of Windermere Crescent, Doncaster, was caught driving at 38mph in a 30mph zone on the A164 at Bainton.
Harrison already had nine points on his license for traffic offences including speeding.
He pleaded guilty to breaking the limit but claimed that a driving ban would cause him exceptional hardship because he was often called on to drive his wife to her work at a South Yorkshire nursing home.
Magistrates were unconvinced by the hardship plea and disqualified Harrison from driving for six months.
He was also fined 75, ordered to pay court costs of 100 and a 15 victim surcharge.
