Spa charity dance raises £7,600
DANCE fans have once again given a massive cash boost to cancer research.
This year's annual dance featuring Todd Miller and the Joe Loss Orchestra held at Bridlington Spa at the end of last month raised 7,600 for Yorkshire Cancer Research.
The event, organised by Jan Jagger for the past 14 years, was the first back at the Spa after three years away, and attracted well over 500 people from many parts of the country.
"It was a great success and one of the highest amounts we have raised in recent years.
"The people were great and despite the economic climate really pulled out all the stops to help YCR," said Jan.
Over the years the event has raised more than 87,000 for the cancer charity.
"I am hoping with next year's event we will hit or pass the 100,000 mark," said Jan who has already booked the date of March 13, 2010 at The Spa.
