Somerfield manager locked in cage ... for charity!

STAFF at the Somerfield store in Martongate, Bridlington, finally had the chance to get their own back on the boss for Children In Need.

Manager Dave Mitchell was locked in a cage and made to wear a green tutu by staff at the store, with customers encouraged to donate money to the BBC charity.

The store also sold cakes and buns baked by in-store baker Matt Smith to help raise over 250.

Helen Southgate, who organised the event, said: "It was great fun to see Dave in the cage.

"The staff had a great time and so did the customers who came in - there were a few funny looks.

"One elderly gentleman came said it had really brightened up his day to have a chuckle at Dave, which is nice to know.

"We will definitely do more fund-raising because it feels great not only to raise money for charity, but it's also a lot of fun."
