Railway trip and talk for members
Members of Barmates and guests were given an interesting talk by Steve Flint, editor designate of Railway Modeller magazine, last Thursday.
Steve was introduced by secretary David Harrison, then outlined the reasons for his interest in railways and model-making and a history of the magazine.
He followed this with a question and answer session about the state of the hobby today before being thanked for his talk.
Some members journeyed to Grosmont on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway last Saturday.
They were given a private tour of the sheds and workshops and were able to see some of the restoration work taking place and get close up to the locomotives.
