Police are searching for a driver who allegedly stole fuel on 26 separate occasions in one month.

Since Monday 6 January the incidents have taken place in Bridlington and across East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.

The fuel cost totals around £2,000.

Humberside Police believe the incidents involve a white or silver transit style van which approaches petrol station forecourts, fills up and drives away without paying.

A police spokesperson said most of the incidents have taken place one after another, while some have seen the vehicle travel from Goole to Grimsby and from Grimsby to Bridlington.

There have been 15 incidents in The East Riding, six incidents in North Lincolnshire, three incidents in Hull and two in North East Lincolnshire.

Officers are working across the force in an attempt to try and locate the offender(s) who have been stealing the fuel.

Call Humberside Police on 101 quoting log 156 of 06 January 2014 with any information in connection with the fuel thefts.
