Pedal power aids Sewerby project
LOCAL residents are being encouraged to get on their bikes to help raise money for the Sewerby Outreach Project.
The Project, based at Sewerby Hall and Gardens, gives adults with learning difficulties the chance to take part in a range of horticultural activities and a 42-mile circular bike ride through the local countryside hopes to raise money for the scheme.
Free Press photographer and keen cyclist Paul Atkinson has already signed up for the ride taking place on September 11 - with a reserve date of September 12 - and he will be joined by Outreach Project leader Paul Robinson and a handful of others who are looking forward to the challenge.
Charlie Robinson, chairman of the Friends of Sewerby Outreach support group, said: "It's an exciting challenge and Paul, Jo, Adam and Ady are already training hard and would love more people to join them.
"It's great that Paul Atkinson is taking part so, if you like a challenge and enjoy bike-riding, please contact Sewerby Outreach."
Sponsorship forms are available from the Outreach Project in the grounds of Sewerby Hall and Gardens and if anybody would like to sponsor those taking part they can contact Paul on 400519.
