A PENSIONER is facing up to four years in prison after being found guilty of seven charges of indecency with a child and two charges of indecent assault.

It took a jury less than three hours to find John Cooke, 77, guilty after a three-day trial at Hull Crown Court, from March 17 to March 20.

Cooke sexually abused five school girls aged between three and seven over a seven-year period from his cottage home on New Road, Kelk.

Cooke, now of Meadow Close, Beeford, has been ordered to sign the sex offender’s register and was released on bail until his sentencing which is due to take place on April 15.
