Police say that there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding an incident in which a man sustained serious injuries in Bridlington in the early hours of Sunday morning.

At 5.09am on Sunday December 15, an ambulance crew attended a call after a 34-year-old man was found unconscious outside the Beaconsfield Arms Pub, on Flamborough Road, Bridlington.

The man was taken to Scarborough Hospital with severe injuries to his body.

Police officers attended the hospital to establish how the man sustained his injuries, whilst others were dispatched to the scene and a road closure was put in place on Flamborough Road and Carlisle Street in both directions between 6.47am and 8.19am.

The man was transferred to Hull Royal Infirmary for serious trauma treatment, and remains there in a very poorly condition.

Officers investigating the incident have deemed the circumstances at this moment in time an non-suspicious, and have no reason to believe there was any third party involvement which led to the man’s injuries.
