Leading East Yorkshire builders’ merchant MKM Building Supplies is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its Beverley branch with the launch of a new kitchen and bathroom showroom in the town.
The business, which also has a branch in Driffield, has invested £30,000 to create the showroom at its Swinemoor Lane base, which is aimed at the region’s trade and retail markets.
To mark the launch – and the 10 year milestone – directors at the company also threw a party for friends, family and customers earlier this month.
Around 100 guests attended the event, which featured a hog roast, a race night and music from local duo Simon & Jack.
Beverley branch director Andy Beet said the showroom featured a range of traditional and contemporary styled bathrooms and kitchens that could be designed to suit any size and style of home.
Mr Beet is one of the original founders of MKM Buildings Supplies, having worked with the firm for 19 years, and has been branch director at Beverley for eight years out of the past decade.
He said: “We wanted to do something big to mark our 10th anniversary in Beverley and what better way than to launch a new showroom aimed at both our trade customers and also the retail sector?
“We want to attract retail customers because it is often the homeowner who makes the purchasing decision when it comes to the kitchen. It is a very personal space, no two are ever the same, but we have the products and the design expertise to make the best of whatever space the customer has available.
“The event we held was a really great night and the first opportunity for people to look round the new showroom, which led to some fantastic feedback. We believe our new and extended range gives our trade customers plenty of choice whether they are fitting out a new house or renovating a period property, and brings a whole new offering in bathroom and kitchens to the people of Beverley.”
MKM Building Supplies was founded in Hull in 1995 by David Kilburn and Peter Murray and since that time has grown to be the UK’s largest independent builders’ merchant.
It has 42 branches across Britain including six in East Yorkshire at Anlaby, Beverley, Bridlington, Driffield, Goole and Hull.
