A huge £43 million project to improve water quality at Bridlington’s beaches came into action this week just in time for the summer season.

The multi-million pound investment by Yorkshire Water will mean that bathing waters at Flamborough, Danes Dyke, Bridlington, Skipsea, Wilsthorpe and Fraisthorpe will now be cleaner then ever.

This week’s announcement means the major engineering project is almost at an end, with the installation of a large coastal pipe later this summer, the final piece in the jigsaw.

See the full story in this week’s Free Press, out tomorrow Thursday 1 May.
