Mayor Les rings the changes at museum
THE Mayor of Bridlington came face to face with memorabilia from the warship which bore the town's name when he officially opened a new display at the Harbour Heritage Museum.
The museum, run by volunteers of the Bridlington Sailing Coble Preservation Society, acquired a collection of artefacts from the former HMS Bridlington including name plates and the all-important ship's bell.
They form a new display for its 2007 season.
Bridlington Mayor Coun Les Taylor and his wife Wyn, the mayoress, performed the honours at a ceremony.
Manned by volunteers, the museum is open every day of the week between 10am and 4pm.
Admission is just 30p and all proceeds help with the upkeep and preservation of the Three Brothers, the last traditional sailing coble on the East coast of England, which has been restored by the society and is moored close by the museum in Bridlington harbour.
