A DANGEROUS child sex attacker has been jailed for kidnapping a 10-year-old girl for sex as she walked to Bridlington Tescos to buy rabbit food for her pet bunny.
Peter Carroll, 52, of Arncliffe Road, Batley, was today (Thursday January 16) convicted by jury after a four day trial at Hull Crown Court.
The jury took thirty minutes to unanimously convict him of kidnap, inciting a child to commit a sexual act and committing an offence with intent to commit a sexual offence.
Judge Simon Jack told the jury he was worried about the random nature of the attack, which happened in the first week of the school summer holidays.
Judge Jack said: “I am worried about the question of risk and a pre-sentence report will give me a professional’s assessment of the risk he poses. I will sentence him when I have that report.”
He ordered Carroll should be remanded in custody and must sign on the National Sex Offenders’ Register. He will sentence in around four-weeks time.
