TICKETS are now available for the Chairman of East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s charity art auction and dinner.

The auction at the event, which takes place at the Spa on Thursday October 18, will feature iconic images and prints from some of the town’s best known artists and photographers.

Prints from, among others, David Hockney, Rosemary Abrahams, Tony Hogan, Steve Race and even the Free Press’ very own Paul Atkinson will be available to bid on, with all proceeds raised going to the charities chosen by East Riding Chairman Chad Chadwick – the Teenage Cancer Trust Unit at Castle Hill hospital, and the Bridlington and District branch of the RSPCA.

Coun Chadwick said: “Both of these charities are very close to my heart and I am delighted to say that all the monies raised through the auction will be spent in the local area to support the charities in continuing their valued work within the community.

“The lots have been generously donated by many local artists.

“I have been touched and overwhelmed with the reponse and take this opportunity to thank each and every person who has found the time to support me in this venture and the charity appeal.”

Coun Chadwick hopes that the public will support the event, and expressed his thanks to all those who have helped set up the evening.

The Teenage Cancer Trust aims to improve the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer sufferers by providing specialist support.

The RSPCA Bridlington and District branch looks after and finds new homes for around 400 animals a year, and needs to raise around £3,500 each week to pay for their care.

The event takes place on Thursday October 18 and the night kicks off at 7pm with a preview of auction lots, before dinner and the auction later in the day. Tickets are £35, or a table of ten can be booked for £325.

If you are interested in going along, you can contact Coun Chadwick on 01262 677877, Sarah Asquith on 01482 393260 or email sarah.asquith@eastriding.gcsx.gov.uk
