Leap Year Lexie is a late arrival

BRIDLINGTON'S only Leap Year Day baby was born on Friday – and the occasion was extra special because she is the fifth generation of girl born in her family.

Kelly Wray, 19, and Stuart McCaw, 22, welcomed Lexie May into the world at 7.07am in Scarborough Hospital after mum went into labour last Thursday.

Miss Wray, of Trinity Road, said: "We're feeling great now she's here. She was due on the 23rd so I think she was waiting for today.

"We'll celebrate on the 28th of every year."

The Wray family now spans five generations and the rest of the family are looking forward to meeting their new arrival.

Miss Wray, a care worker, said: "I really want to give a special thank you to my midwife Alison, who was fantastic, she never left my side and stayed with me all night."
