John's breaking bones for charity

JOHN Benson took fund-raising to the extreme when he flung himself out of a plane for charity and broke his ankle upon landing.

John recently completed an aeroplane jump from the skies over Skydive GB at Grindale in aid of Cardiac Risk in the Young and managed to raise 1,800 for the charity.

It was John's first skydive and he admitted to nerves ahead of the big jump, but despite being 'unlucky' and breaking a bone, he still enjoyed the experience.

"Other than that, it was amazing and I would still recommend it to anyone," he said.

"All the staff at Skydive GB are very nice and a real friendly bunch."

John, who lives in Hunmanby and works at the Inventair manufacturing company in Carnaby, chose to raise money for CRY following the death last year of Hunmanby resident Allyn McCluskie, who died suddenly of heart complications aged just 24. John thanked all those who supported and sponsored his jump.
